Counsellors and Psychotherapists Camaraderie and fellowship

Hello

The Trusty Teapot is designed with the sole purpose of bringing fellowship and camaraderie into the lives of Professional Counsellors & Psychotherapists.

To bring an end to the professional isolation that seems to affect our profession more than any other.

Why now? Last year I wrote two blogs on the subject. It worried me then, it worries me more now. It is very likely that the fallout from the pandemic will bring upsurge of clients needing help to deal with their distress.  We cannot afford to ignore all the benefits we can gain from including other professionals like us  in our team.

We are, after all, one big team – we just haven’t managed to have a cup of tea together yet.

At Last!

A simple, inexpensive and ultra convenient way to gain camaraderie and fellowship with other practising Counsellors and Psychotherapists.

Sign up today and you will receive a regular list of fellow professionals who, just like you, are determined to end their own professional isolation, simply and conveniently, reaping the immense benefits of rewarding conversations and  one to ones, with any one of a number of lovely fellow professionals, just like you.

Call it networking! Call it peer support! Call it what you will!

I call it making friends with other professional therapists who understand the work you do.  The issues, the rewards, the challenges that come with the work and importantly the way working as a therapist shapes the very core of you.

Can you think of anyone better to link up with for professional understanding.

By meeting up at a local cafe, chat on the phone or embrace the technology.  Grab yourself a cuppa and a sandwich and go online for a chat over lunch,.  The ultimate convenience.

Whatever way suits you, what better way to end the professional isolation than with a chat over a cuppa.

And who knows, many a friendship has been forged over a shared pot of tea.

food, drinks, people

My name is Lois Marshall and I want to invite you to become a founder member of The Trusty Teapot.

You will be joining at the very beginning,  you will be a founding member, a pioneer, in a movement that will bring fellowship and camaraderie to everyone in our profession.

We are open for business. The website is still being created, so  please forgive any changes that might occur, or wonky pictures, before it settles.  If you ‘re uncertain whether professional isolation effects you then please read more about it here

If you want to read more about the benefits of fellowship in the Talking Therapies Profession, including self-care, building resilience, personal development, to name just a few, click here.

Here is what’s on offer. I hope you find it refreshing simple.

By joining you are putting up your hand that you are open to having virtual online, or physical meetups for a cup of tea and a chat with fellow professionals in talking therapies to foster friendships, camaraderie, mutual support and an end to Professional Isolation.

  • No CPD
  • No campaigns
  • No online chat group (unless you twist my arm for one).
  • Access to an updated monthly list of fellow therapists who want a simple end to professional isolation.
  • And of course this website where there will be posts, hints and tips and heartwarming stories, contributions from the membership will be warmly received.

The greatest gifts from being part of this will be at the very least,

  • You will have one to one chats with many wonderful people who work as you do, and who are as keen as you are to take steps to bring fellowship and camaraderie into their lives.
  • You can be assured that whoever you talk to has joined The Trusty Teapot with an open, friendly, and mutually supportive attitude.
  • You will be able to extend a hand of friendship to a fellow professional.
  • You will always have control over agreeing to meet up. You might consider setting yourself a challenge, for at least one meetup a month – that’s the opportunity of having twelve enriching isolation busting conversations a year.
  • And of course, you can opt-out of the list at any time should the need arise.
  • You might meet someone who goes on to become your go-to person for professional friendship and camaraderie.

I want to keep this affordable and simple, about the cost of tea and cake for two. At £7.50 per month, what have you got to lose!
